I am building a 1915 running a engle 110 cam 1.1:1 rockers, I am running stock valve sizes but the heads are ported and polished. will 47mm carbs be too big?? should I stick with 40's?? Please help as I am about to order them and I dont want to run into problems down the road. thanks guys
47's are big for your engine, but you can also have them jetted for your flow requirements this will cost more though. I would stick with 40's for what u have as engine (stock) and then jet them for any larger engine build in the future.
47mm? Where are you gonna get those? I think dual 40's will be plenty on a 1914, especially if you're running stock valves. However, if you ever suspect a big engine might be in your future, a set of 44's could be jetted down to work.
47's are way too big for you engine. I ran 44's for years and could never get them jetted down enough. Traded for 40's which helped . These toys run better lean for me. Eventually went to injection to cure my quest. Gene C Gadget #729
